Educational Frontiers

Educational Frontiers brings research out of scholarly journals and puts it into the hands of teachers, schools and the public at large.

We work with university professors to create DVD’s to disseminate their leading-edge research while bringing revenue back to the professors for their work.

Boys the Literacy of Video Games (in production)

This first DVD of the series will explore these questions:

The Literacy of Videos Games

  • What are the literacy skills being learned by boys through videogame play and how do these literacy skills relate to school literacies?
  • What worldview(s) is being learned by extensive videogame play and how is this affecting their understanding of and interaction in the world of family, school, and community?
  • How can these issues be addressed in informal and formal/school learning situations with adolescent boys as they play and create videogames?
